Armando "Baqueta" Ibarra was born and raised in the Mission. Descending from a musical family he studied percussion under his father and became part of "Los Ramblers de Nicaraga". For Ten years he drummed with Fogo na Roupa as he held an interest in Afro-Brazilian music due to his Capoeira training. He drums for Bay Area teacher and artist Tania Santiago and has took his study to become a student of Jorge Alabe.
